Throw kindness around like confetti.

Meet RBG

Luke’s kitty Nova came to live with me in November and suddenly passed away just last week. We were all devastated how quickly she declined but on the other hand, were grateful she didn’t suffer long.

Her brief time with me stirred up a need in me for a dear pet to share my tiny place here in DC. So I searched the rescue sites and found her. Then things moved fast. I spent the day yesterday readying my place and late last night went to Hyattsville MD to meet her and bring her home.

I’m in love, and hopefully, she soon will be. Her personality is much like my kitty Dalai, in that she’s reserved and a little leery of new people and things. I always say that puts her in a category closer to her animal instincts, which is perfect.

She left her safe spot in her carrier sometime in the night and found another safe spot among my shoes in my closet. That’s progress. And I have no fear that she soon will be helping me knit and finding a spot on my lap for calm and comfort.

As far as her name is concerned, RBG (officially Ruth Bader Ginsburg) is a courageous champion hero of mine so it was a natural, given her black coat (robe) and all. PS-I need to find her a collar 🙂 …but I also like to refer to her as my Rescatados Bonita Gata (Rescued Pretty Cat).

Happy birthday to me. And I’m hoping RBG and I will enjoy this new decade I’ve just entered into.
