Throw kindness around like confetti.

Jill is

At my Sunday School class last week, Adam Hamilton, in his book and video “Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White” suggested we put our own name in the familiar Bible verse that many of us hear at weddings…you know the one…”Love is patient, love is kind” 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7.

Jill is patient, Jill is kind. Jill does not envy, Jill does not boast, Jill is not proud. Jill does not dishonor others, Jill is not self-seeking, Jill is not easily angered, Jill keeps no record of wrongs. Jill does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Jill always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Certainly, many of you may have arguments with the statements I put my name on above. But it’s a prayer…a guide…something for me to strive for each day.
