Throw kindness around like confetti.

From 2018…

At the turning of the year I often find myself praying for clarity — clarity of vision, clarity of purpose. Martha Postlewaite’s poem, “Clearing” expresses some of what I long for this time of year.

Clearing
by Martha Postlewaite

Do not try to save
the whole world
or do anything grandiose.
Instead, create
a clearing
in the dense forest
of your life
and wait there
patiently,
until the song
that is your life
falls into your own cupped hands
and you recognize and greet it.
Only then will you know
how to give yourself
to this world
so worthy of rescue.

I hope that in this reflective time between Christmas and the New Year you might find a little clearing, or clarity, in your own busy life.
